1. Accessibility Requirements and Applicable Criteria

The digital accessibility requirements are outlined in Legislative Decree of May 27, 2022, No. 82 “Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of April 17, 2019, on the accessibility requirements for products and services”, which refers to the UNI EN 301549 technical standard.

Specifically, website compliance must be assessed based on the criteria found in Chapters 9 “Web” and 10 “Non-web content”, which refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level A+AA.

The four fundamental principles of digital accessibility, as expressed by WCAG 2.1, are:

  • Perceivable – Content is presented in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Operable – The interface is easily navigable by all users.
  • Understandable – Information and operations are intuitive and easy to interpret.
  • Robust – The site is compatible with the most common assistive technologies.

Based on the above-mentioned UNI EN 301549 standard, which clearly outlines 50 success criteria for verifying a website's accessibility, technical analyses have been conducted on the site's content, including both textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and forms of two-way interaction, such as the processing of digital forms and completion of authentication, identification, and payment processes.

Exclusions from Application

Article 1, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the decree do not apply to the following website and mobile app contents:

  • pre-recorded time-based media published before June 28, 2025;
  • office file formats published before June 28, 2025;
  • online maps and mapping services, if essential navigation information is provided in an accessible digital format;
  • third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by the concerned economic operator nor under its control;
  • website and mobile app content considered archives, containing only content that has not been updated or edited after June 28, 2025.

2. General Description of the Service

This website is aimed at end consumers and offers retail services for the Blugirl brand, allowing users to discover, select, and purchase the company's clothing products. Users can explore the site using filters, add items to their cart or wishlist, register to access their personal area, and manage orders, returns, and personal details. In addition to providing a complete purchase flow, the site also allows users to subscribe to the brand's newsletter, consult customer service, and contact the company.

3. How the Service Works

The website is accessible from desktop, tablet, and smartphone devices via the main web browsers currently available and is available in both Italian and English.

The site's navigation is designed to be intuitive and consistent, through a main menu that provides direct access to the most relevant sections (clothing, accessories, collections, brand).

Below is a breakdown of how the main services offered by the site function:

  • Browsing products: users can browse the various products offered by accessing the menu items for clothing, accessories, and collections, and selecting the product type of interest from the dropdown menu.
  • Adding products to favorites: users can save products of interest by clicking the dedicated icon on the preview or on “Add to wishlist” on the product page. All items added to favorites are visible on the “Wishlist” page, accessible via the menu. From there, they can be added to the cart or removed.
  • Making a purchase: users can purchase desired products by selecting the product of interest and clicking the “add to cart” button on the product page after selecting the size. The product can also be added from the preview screen by clicking the dedicated icon, selecting the size, and then the button. To proceed to checkout, users must click the dedicated icon at the top, proceed to the next checkout screen, log in or enter their data without registration, and select a payment method. Once all fields are completed, the order can be submitted, and the purchase finalized.
  • Accessing the reserved area: the website allows users to register and access their reserved area by selecting the appropriate menu item from the header. On the dedicated pages, users can enter the required information to log into their account or create one.
  • Requesting a return: return requests can be made by both registered and unregistered users. Simply go to the “Request a return” section in the menu or footer and fill out the dedicated form. Registered users can also submit the request directly from their account area.
  • Search navigation: it is possible to search for a product directly by entering a keyword in the search bar located at the top of the page (header).
  • Filter navigation: within the product pages, users can refine their search using different types of filters.
  • Submitting an information request: users can request information via email, phone, or by completing a form. The relevant contact details are found on the “Contact” page accessible from the footer menu.
  • Consulting customer service: users can access a FAQ page dedicated to customer service by clicking the appropriate menu item in the footer.
  • Subscribing to the newsletter: users can subscribe to the newsletter by entering their email in the dedicated area in the homepage footer and confirming via the “subscribe” button.

4. Fulfillment of Accessibility Requirements

To enhance accessibility and user experience, FFW S.r.l. has integrated the UserWay PRO accessibility widget into the website covered by this statement. Its use is completely free for website users and helps improve the site's compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
UserWay PRO offers multiple features to improve website accessibility and user experience, accessible through a dedicated panel by clicking the widget icon or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below.

  • Screen Reader: reads aloud all page content without requiring an external reader.
  • Dictionary: allows users to consult dictionaries without leaving the website. Essential for users with cognitive disabilities, non-native English speakers, and others.
  • Larger Text: increases on-screen text size with four levels of enlargement, making every part of the site easier to read.
  • Saturation: adjusts site color intensity to high, low, or grayscale.
  • Contrast: inverts website colors or toggles between light and dark contrast modes.
  • Smart Contrast: ensures that all site colors fully comply with ADA standards, improving content visibility.
  • Highlight Links: highlights links, buttons, and other interactive elements with high-contrast colors, making them easier to identify and improving usability, navigation, and overall accessibility.
  • Pause Animations: pauses moving or auto-updating content that may be considered a barrier to accessibility, and stops flashing or animated content that could trigger seizures in sensitive users.
  • Text Spacing: modifies character and line spacing to improve readability for users with dyslexia or visual impairments, offering three levels of adjustment for a personalized reading experience.
  • Line Height: increases line spacing to ensure more comfortable text layout throughout the site.
  • Text Alignment: aligns text to the left, right, or center to offer a more accessible and personalized reading experience.
  • Dyslexia-Friendly Font: the “UserWay Dyslexia Friendly” font improves readability and provides a smoother reading experience for visitors with dyslexia.
  • Large Cursor: enlarges the default cursor by 400% to keep it always visible, allowing for quicker and more accessible navigation across links, tabs, and form elements.
  • Tooltips: displays alternative text and ARIA labels for on-screen elements via hover. Tooltips are clearly visible, high contrast, and easy to read for low-vision users with accessibility needs.
  • Page Structure: quickly reveals page headings, landmarks, and links in a clear, structured, and accessible way. Helps all users, including those with disabilities, to find desired content more easily.

In addition to the features that users can activate from the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget can detect many site non-compliances and make real-time corrections without modifying the source code, but only what the browser renders on screen. This allows the website to be more usable for all end users, including those using assistive technologies.

Web content accessibility for users who rely on assistive technologies—such as screen readers, alternative keyboards, or voice commands—is also supported by the presence of ARIA attributes, which help describe the role, state, and properties of user interface elements, communicate dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers, and support keyboard navigation of complex components.

Additional Accessibility Requirements for E-Commerce Services

The service ensures accessible identification, security, and payment features, using systems that present such functionalities in a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust manner.

Regarding electronic payments, the website uses leading providers, listed below:

Compliance Status

To determine the site's compliance status, the guidelines and evaluation checklist provided by AgID were used.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements set out in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard and, since it was published before 06/28/2025, the company intends to achieve full compliance upon the future launch of a new website.

5. Accessibility Monitoring Process

FFW S.r.l., in the context of a future update of the website covered by this statement, will dedicate particular attention to the service provision process to ensure it meets digital accessibility regulations. The company is also considering support from external consultants for the following activities:

  • technical audit of the website’s accessibility through a gap analysis;
  • user testing of main user flows, also using assistive technologies;
  • analysis of third-party technologies, plugins, and services implemented on the site;
  • reporting of gaps and non-compliances identified by the technical audit and user tests;
  • validation of corrections made for non-compliances;
  • drafting public-facing accessibility documentation;
  • training staff on digital accessibility best practices;
  • defining internal policies and procedures for handling user assistance requests.

FFW S.r.l. also intends to conduct regular technical checks to monitor the website’s accessibility over time, potentially with support from third-party digital accessibility specialists, in order to implement improvements, including those based on user feedback.

In such cases, the technical audits will be conducted by an external accessibility consultant using up-to-date tools aligned with current regulations, reviewing the site's compliance through semi-automated code checks, manual user testing, and assistive technology support.
